Code of Conduct

Out in Finance unites individuals across the financial services industry to drive LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality through our events, programming, and networking opportunities (including our job referral programming). In order to cultivate an organization and environment that facilitates the authentic growth of professional networks, the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, and promote mutual community support, we kindly request that all members and event attendees adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

  • Maintain a professional atmosphere and demeanor at all times Respect others’ gender identity/expression, pronouns, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, religion, disability, body size, age, and national origin
  • Participate in discussions and presentations without engaging in disruptive behavior
  • Show respect for others’ employers, their roles within their organizations, and their employment status
  • Consume alcoholic beverages responsibly when provided; members are responsible for self-reporting their legal age (along with providing valid government ID when requested)
  • The possession, sale, or use of any drugs or non-prescribed controlled substances, as well as the abuse of any prescribed controlled substance, is prohibited
  • Encourage and foster conversations that advance Out in Finance’s values of Community, Visibility, Advocacy, Support, Voice, and Partnerships

In addition, when engaging in professional introductions and job referrals facilitated by Out in Finance, whether in-person or virtually, we ask that all members:

  • Represent Out in Finance with professionalism and integrity, upholding the organization’s mission and values in all professional interactions
  • Ensure that any communication (e.g., emails, video calls, and messages) maintains a level of professionalism and respect in line with Out in Finance’s values of Community, Visibility, Advocacy, Support, Voice, and Partnerships

Out in Finance members, volunteers, participants, and event attendees who are found to be in violation of this Code may be asked to leave an event and lose job referral privileges; repeated or gross violations may potentially lead to barring individual offenders from future participation in Out in Finance membership. Photo Release Policy

Out in Finance (OIF) unites individuals across the financial services industry to drive LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality through our events and programming. When registering and attending our events and programming, OIF may take photos and/or videos during the event.

By attending, you hereby agree and consent to be photographed and/or filmed and to the use of your image, without payment of any kind, for use in OIF’s programs and for other promotional/editorial activities of OIF for future use in any and all media, now known or hereafter created.

By attending, you understand that this permission signifies that photographic or video recordings of you may be electronically displayed via the internet or other media, including but not limited to print, digital stills, and digital documents.

There is no time limit on the validity of this release, nor is there any geographic limitation on where these materials may be distributed.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OIF, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or in connection with the use of your likeness as described in this release.
