Volunteers

Our member-volunteers are dedicated to increasing LGBTQ+ representation, inclusion, and visibility in the financial services industry. Our organization has committees so member-volunteers can use their talents to further our mission. Out in Finance welcomes committee members and individual member-volunteers.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee manages the communication and promotion of all Out in Finance initiatives including events and communications with members and corporate partners. The Committee is also responsible for maintaining the website, social media accounts, and member data.

Events Committee

The Events Committee plans, develops, organizes, and executes events focused on social, networking, and educational initiatives. This includes event location scouting, coordinating logistics with participating organizations, and the engagement of guest speakers and corporate sponsors.

Partnership Committee

The Partnership Committee cultivates and manages relationships with current and potential corporate partners. Through effective partnership building the Committee connects corporate partners to resources within the organization to address any questions, comments, or ideas.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee is responsible for ensuring that our organization uses technology effectively and securely. The committee is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our digital platforms, such as the website and email platform. In addition, it evaluates and provides guidance concerning the direction of Out in Finance’s technological evolution.

As a 100% volunteer-based organization, there are many ways to get involved and advance our mission. Volunteers are needed on each of our committees. Volunteers are asked to attend monthly committee meetings and work on assigned projects.

Benefits Include:

  • Ability to shape Out in Finance as the organization grows
  • Leadership experience through event/project lead opportunities or Committee Chair assignments
  • Resume building and non-profit experience
  • Network building through direct conversations with our corporate partners
  • Opportunities to build new skills (i.e. writing, public speaking, website maintenance, etc.)
  • Deeper connection to the LGBTQ+ community; creating a lasting positive impact for the LGBTQ+ community
