Dru is the founder of Out in Finance and has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. At Nuveen, Dru launched the Chicago chapter of their LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG), and then transitioned to serve as National Co-Chair, overseeing six chapters and nearly 500 members. Dru also volunteered on the Chicago Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Steering Committee and Co-Chaired the HRC Chicago Corporate Committee. At Cutter Associates, Dru led the firm’s DEI efforts with a focus on building LGBTQ+ welcoming corporate cultures where individuals can show up as their authentic selves.

In January 2023, Dru made the intentional decision to step back from his leadership role so that Out in Finance could grow into its full potential as an independent organization. He now lives in San Diego and continues to champion Out in Finance as an advocate and community supporter in the Los Angeles market, attending events and helping to expand the organization’s reach across Southern California.
