Resilience and Self-Compassion: Wellness Tools for LGBTQ+ Mental Health

Join us on Thursday, October 10, 2024 for an event Sponsored by The Northern Trust Company.

Societal expectations, homophobic political discourse, and general feelings of being an outsider all can take a toll on the mental health of the LGBTQ+ community. As we approach the holiday season – a stressful time for many – Out In Finance would like to take the opportunity to discuss the importance of mental health.

Resilience training is about acquiring tools that help you “focus on the better parts of life and adapt to tough events.” Simple mindfulness and self-compassion knowledge, skills and attitudes can help you cope with difficult events and make the most of your life. In this seminar, two psychotherapists from Root+Bloom, Lana Standard, LCSW, CADC, EMDR, and Dr. Michael Gold, LCSW, PsyD will teach you core mindfulness and self-compassion skills that you can consider in your day-to-day life.

Don’t miss this opportunity to connect and learn just in time for National Coming Out Day. All LGBTQ+ and allied professionals are invited to join us for an empowering event that celebrates diversity in its many forms.

The event is free to attend, but space is limited, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.

There will be a networking reception with free refreshing drinks and scrumptious snacks for in-person attendees.
